Make-A-Wish with Purex + Giveaway

Two years ago, I was proud to be one of the volunteers in a Make-A-Wish event. It was a sports marathon for the kids where they get to showcase their talents, like in swimming and biking. There were a lot of participants and they of course came with their parents, so there was a huge crowd. It became a huge success knowing a lot of volunteers signed up and the kids were well-behaved and they were good sports. There were other brands that supported the project as well.

I wasn't surprised that Purex is supporting the very same charity to help raise awareness and funds. The project is called "Bright Washes, Bright Wishes" and their goal is to grant children with life-threatening medical conditions achieve their wishes.

About Make-A-Wish

With the help of generous donors and more than 25,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the country every 38 minutes. Win $1000 Shopping Spree!

It's never been fun to do household chores with Purex! I recently made a switch to Purex and I am totally satisfied! There was no difference with the stain-acting power compared to the more expensive brand, plus, there are a couple of scent options too. I also notice I use less detergent in my clothes than I ever did. The small bottle which I bought for $3.99 at K-Mart took me almost 3 months considering I do the laundry every week with minimum of four loads. I bet you can also get it at a lower price with coupons.

Let's Put Dawn To Test!

I cook almost everyday though I'd say I am not much of a chef. I love cooking with sauces because they are my favorite. But whenever I am in a hurry, I fry! And when I fry, it's always a disaster, from oil spills to, oh wait... Look at that picture below! That's it! That's the main problem! I always soak my pans whenever it comes to that point. I use the regular dish detergent and sometimes add water, just because I am being frugal. LOL.

I got some Dawn Power Clean samples when I redeemed a reward from Pampers. I was actually surprised they put some other P&G samples there too. They're like freebies. I knew I was going use it really soon. I kept them near the sink so I won't forget. And just last night, I was finally able to try it. It says it works like an overnight soak in 5 minutes. So that's what I exactly did. I put the detergent, soaked for 5 minutes and then I started washing.

It was really quick! Now, I don't need to leave my pots and pans (which by the way may attract roaches and flies) in the sink overnight. Here's the end-result! Kind of powerful, ain't it? :)

So having tried and tested it, will I use it again? Let's just say I just wished they gave me a full bottle. I think it's a fairly new product and I love it already. I am so excited to find them in stores. :)

Why Our Clothes Smell Good

I am not sure if it's a new scent from a well-known brand, Tide. But I've seen it only this year and I don't know when they launched it. The reason our clothes smell good is because of Tide with Febreze - Sport.

I didn't realize making a review of it until my cousin paid us a visit. She stayed with us for a week and she caught me washing our clothes. When she went to the laundry room, she smelled something good. She asked me what type of detergent I was using and I showed her the bottle. I asked her what she currently have and she said she uses powder because it saves her a lot of money. I seriously haven't tried powder of any brand myself! I thought it was old-school. Anyway, I told her I have been using Tide always with Febreze since time immemorial. I suggested that upon using her current powder detergent, she better try it.

I am sure I made her change her mind. She said she liked it and will definitely switch from powder to liquid just to get the same good-smelling clothes like ours. By the way, I let her wash her one-week laundry at home to kick start it. I bet she'll be dreaming of it once she unload her clothes from her luggage.
