I bet most moms who can read this either has a phone or a tablet "shared" with their little ones. My daughter sometimes just can't keep her hands off my electronic stuff so I let her use it (though not for long). Since I don't want her to get bored with my apps, I decided to download a few on my Samsung phone and our iPad. It's nice to know that there's a lot of educational apps out there that can really engage kids into learning even on their own.

Here are three (3) apps I find really useful especially for kids like my daughter who'll soon be attending school.

Preschool & Kindergarten Baby Books, Songs, and Early Reading Toddler Games

My daughter likes this app because she likes the stories. She can't really read yet but at least she's getting familiar with the words and is learning to "listen" to stories. It's like automatic book-reading the classic children stories! There are also a couple of children songs which are depicted through nice cartoon videos. :) My daughter sings and dances along with it.

123 Tracing Numbers: Montessori Math Game for Kids

My daughter is probably one of those kids who doesn't want to be taught or is too lazy to study. At her age, she is able to count to twenty but she can't really write them all that well. I think this is a great app to teach her to write 0-9 because it gets her attention. She loves "collecting" bugs without knowing she's already writing the number. I also like the idea of making her trace the same number so she'll really get the picture. My goal is to allow and make her use this app everyday until she can write the numbers on paper by herself. I guess that wouldn't be long! :)

ABC Preschool Games for Kids

I love how this app, like the other two (2) I mentioned above, got my daughter's attention. She usually just loves watching videos but now she's interested in learning, like tracing numbers, knowing what each letter stands for and the difference between uppercase and lowercase letters. I love how clear the graphics are and that it doesn't freeze, which are true even for the apps I downloaded from iTunes.
