Three (3) Natural Soy Candles Giveaway

Have you ever smelled something unusual in your home? A closet full of shoes, an unventilated basement, musky bathroom, a pungent cooking smell, or maybe it became so usual you don't even notice it anymore? LOL!

I tell, you, I have tried many things to lower the smell I experience from such and tried to avoid the possibility of my visitors noticing them. I do open the bathroom and kitchen windows but I don't think I can do that during winter. I also bought a dehumidifier and an air purifier (the latter I actually returned because I didn't notice any difference after a week of trying it). I sometimes use those electric and battery-operated fragrance too. I use fabric fresheners as well, especially in the closet. The funny thing is I never really went into the idea of using candles just because I don't like the burnt smell after blowing the wick.

I guess things changed after I acquainted myself with natural soy candles. I just thought, the time I will spend smelling the wonderful and aromatic fragrance is more than the time I'll smell the burnt wick. Ha!
Natural Soy Candles
To start with, one set of the Old Factory candle contains three (3) 2oz. soy candles in a box that is perfect for gifting! Just put a ribbon on top and a tag and it's ready! I also love the simple design which can be easily blended with natural home colors.
Comes in a box perfect for gifting!
I chose the Fresh and Clean scent because I always loved the smell of newly-washed clothes and fresh-smelling stuff! This package includes 3 different scents namely Fresh Linen, Lemongrass and Olive Blossom! I seriously love each! My husband's favorite though is Lemongrass. He said he's going to use it in his office.

Besides these scents, you can also choose from a lot more! There are even holiday-themed candle sets! Below are the list of Themes and their related fragrances:
  • Fall Harvest ~ Pumpkin Spice, Cranberry, Autumn Leaves

Baking with USDA Organic Seal Whole Wheat Flour

I got nothing to do on a lazy rainy Thursday morning and I realized we don't have bread at home. What better thing to do than bake? I bought blueberries yesterday because I remembered it's best for kids' brain development. I was afraid my daughter won't eat it as it is anymore so I decided to conceal it in a bread. I searched online for blueberry cake recipes and I went to the site I've been using for awhile. I trust AllRecipes too because I see a lot of reviews and it's rated by stars so I won't have a hard time choosing what has been tried and tasted!
Today is special because I am going to try a new brand, King Arthur Flour. I have tried another brand of whole wheat flour before and I swear I didn't like the end-result. With King Arthur Flour, I was in high hopes in getting a better result and it didn't fail me. I have a few reasons why I like King Arthur Flour brand:
1) It's 100% organic, 100% wheat. No other unwanted ingredients for you to take!
2) They offer unbleached white whole wheat flour. It's pure and untouched.
3) It's milled in the USA. I actually do not care where just as long as it says where it came from. It's important because each country has its own food regulation thing and US is among my trusted ones.
Now, the verdict. According to mom, she thought it was great. She specially liked the icing because it's sweet and it balances the overall taste of the blueberry cake. She said that the cake on it's own was a bit bland (she has a real sweet tooth). I expected it blueberries are kind of sour in nature (specially when my mom over-crushed it). Next time, I'll omit the salt.
I tasted it too and thought it was okay. I can feel the wheat crumbs with gives it a different feel in the tongue. There's no real issue compared with all purpose flour at all.

The funny part is, my daughter didn't really tried the blueberry cake, she got more interested in eating the blueberries lying on the plate. LOL! I guess she'll have it tonight. I have to try more baking goods with fruits and vegetables! And I'll for sure use the same King Arthur Flour organic whole wheat! My mom finished her share though so I thought it was acceptable!

Giveaway: Certified Gluten-Free, Non-GMO and Made in the USA Crackers

If you think crackers are for the not-so-young ones, then think again. There's a revolutionary creation of natural crackers perfect for your family as a snack or for your guests as appetizer! Here's a sample of what I did to stir up the taste and make it presentable to our guests.
I used Crunchmaster 7 Ancient Grains. Yes, 7 grains - Brown Rice, Sorghum, Quinoa, Sesame, Millet, Flax and Amaranth packed in one. I sure have tasted at least three of those grains and I am familiar with one. These crunchy square crackers tastes like rice crackers, only better because it has six other grains with it. I can also taste the sesame seeds and the sea salt which added a twist to the cracker's taste. You can do a lot more with it like the ones shown below though it's also great to eat it on it's own.
As for crackers your kids (and you too) will like, Crunchmaster has prepared two irresistible flavors you can try:
Crunchmaster Cheezy Crisps
These triangular-shaped Cheezy Crisps is my daughter's new favorite snack! She won't stop saying "It's yummy, mommy!" while eating them. I tried to see for myself why she liked it. Then I discovered the crunchiness and the right amount of cheddar cheese mixed with the cracker most probably is the reason she got addicted to it. The size was also perfect for one (little) bite. The "Lip-Smackin' Good" labeled on the package is right, it indeed is! :)
Little and big hands enjoying the Cheezy Crisps!
I kind of started liking cinnamon but I haven't tasted it in crackers until I tried Crunchmaster Grammy Crisps. These crackers are, like the two mentioned above, oven-baked and low in sodium. Compared to the the Cheezy Crisps, this one is a bit more brown but still as crunchy, and it is powdered with cinnamon and sugar. I think this should also have the "Lip-Smackin' Good" label. One my my friends was able to try it too and she finished half of the pack! LOL! She really liked it and even asked me what Gluten-Free means. I told her I have been switching to these kind of food/diet.
Dusted with sugar and cinnamon powder.
If you want to tray the delicious taste of the Crunchmaster flavors I reviewed, PLUS THREE OTHER FLAVORS, join the giveaway for a chance to win a sampler pack! Please click the Rafflecopter link below if it doesn't automatically show up.
I was not paid nor required to do a review of the products mentioned above. I was given free samples to taste-test but everything was based on my honest opinion.
